Hi folks,
We are experiencing a late flood this year and are currently shut down. Big Cypress bayou is out of it’s banks and Caddo Lake is above flood stage. We are not sure at this point how long we will be flooded, but much more rain is headed our way. Lake O the Pines is 7.5 feet above normal and it has rained all night in the Big Cypress watershed which not only feeds Caddo Lake, but Lake O the Pines, “LOP” as well. LOP is upstream from us and already releasing 3,057 cubic feet per second. As LOP continues to rise they will begin releasing more water. This of course will flood us even more. I will continue to update our current situation until we have to evacuate, if it comes to that. I regret having to cancel so many reservations and hope all of you will come again when this is over.
Thanks and Regards,
Capt. Ron Gibbs
